| On the 28th January there was the launching of the Joe E. Spiteri Award. It had been the desire of the executive committee to find a way to establish an award and present it to its members who excel in their line
of work or to other individuals who contribute significantly to the world of Public Health. This first year the Award is being given and also rightly named after a person who was a member of the association but was also a unique individual who dedicated a large time of his life to his work. He is non other than Joe E. Spiteri.
